Q183258 - HOWTO: Configuring CDO on a 64-bit System

Configuring CDO on a 64-bit System

The following outlines how CDO can be configured on a 64-bit Windows system. Before continuing with this article, please familiarize yourself with the following documents (as they will be required later on): How do I Install CDO (Collaboration Data Objects) and Custom CDO Configuration.

It is assumed that J-Integra Exchange is installed (either by ZIP or EXE) and that the PATH environment variable contains a valid reference to J-Integra's 'bin' folder.

  1. Disable the Windows Firewall (and the UAC, if applicable).
  2. Install the CDO component (How do I Install CDO).
  3. Register CDO.DLL using the 'regsvr32.exe' utility located in the 'WINDOWS\SysWOW64' directory.
  4. Configure CDO according to the Custom CDO Configuration (NOTE: Start at Step 5, since CDO.DLL was registered in the step above).
  5. Restart the system.
